From: GOD
THE FATHER, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST HIS SON and Ministered through the HOLY
SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be with you forever. [John 14:16]
Subject: MY WORD; John 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 (NKJV) 14 And the Word
became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the
only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 John 1:1–4 (The Living Bible) 1 Christ was alive when the world began, yet
I myself have seen him with my own eyes and listened to him speak. I have
touched him with my own hands. He is God’s message of life. 2 This
one who is life from God has been shown to us, and we guarantee that we have
seen him; I am speaking of Christ, who is eternal Life. He was with the Father
and then was shown to us. 3 Again
I say, we are telling you about what we ourselves have actually seen and heard,
so that you may share the fellowship and the joys we have with the Father and
with Jesus Christ his son. 4 And if you do as I say in this
letter, then you, too, will be full of joy, and so will we.
1 John 1:5–10 (NASB95) 5 This is the message
we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there
is no darkness at all. 6 If
we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we
lie and do not practice the truth; 7 but if we walk in the Light
as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we
have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is
not in us.
1 John 2:3–11 (CJB) 3 The way we can be
sure we know him is if we are obeying his commands. 4 Anyone who says, “I know him,” but isn’t obeying his
commands is a liar—the truth is not in him. 5 But if someone
keeps doing what he says, then truly love for God has been brought to its goal
in him. This is how we are sure that we are united with him. 6 A
person who claims to be continuing in union with him ought to conduct his life
the way he did. 7 Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command.
On the contrary, it is an old command, which you have had from the beginning;
the old command is the message which you have heard before. 8 Yet I
am writing you a new command, and its reality is seen both in him and in you,
because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 9
Anyone who claims to be in this light
while hating his brother is still in the dark. 10 The person who
keeps loving his brother remains in the light, and there is nothing in him that
could make him trip. 11 But the person who hates his brother is in
the dark—yes, he is walking in the dark, and he doesn’t know where he is going,
because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
1 John 3:7–9 (CJB) 7 Children, don’t let
anyone deceive you—it is the person that keeps on doing what is right who is
righteous, just as God is righteous. 8 The person who keeps on sinning is from the Adversary, because from
the very beginning the Adversary has kept on sinning. It was for this very
reason that the Son of God appeared, to destroy these doings of the Adversary. 9
No one who has God as his Father keeps on sinning, because the seed planted by
God remains in him. That is, he cannot continue sinning, because he has God as
his Father.
1 John 3:7–9 (NASB95) 7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices
righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who
practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he
cannot sin, because he is born of God.
2 Peter 2:2–9 (NASB95) 2 Many will follow
their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3
and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their
judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 4
For if God did not spare angels when
they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness,
reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world,
but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He
brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and if He
condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them
to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives
thereafter; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by
the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and
heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his
righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9
then the Lord knows how to rescue
the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the
day of judgment,
1 Peter 4:7–11 (The Living Bible) 7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore be earnest,
thoughtful men of prayer. 8 Most
important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up
for many of your faults. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those
who need a meal or a place to stay for the night. 10 God has given
each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other,
passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings. 11 Are you
called to preach? Then preach as though God himself were speaking through you.
Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God
supplies so that God will be glorified through Jesus Christ—to him be glory and
power forever and ever. Amen.
[Please Note: Always Read the
Word of God in Context, reading the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy
Spirit of the Living God to give you the interpretation. 2 Peter 1:16–21 (Williams) 16 For it was not mere stories of fancy
that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He
received such honor and glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory
there was borne to Him a voice like this, “This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom
I take delight.” 18 we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven
while we were with Him on that sacred mountain. 19 So we have the
message of the prophets more certainly guaranteed. Please pay attention to this message as to a
lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning
star rises in your hearts; 20 because you recognize this truth above
all else, that no prophecy in Scripture
is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21 for no prophecy has
ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit
spoke from God.]
