Acts 3:17–26 (The Living Bible) 17 “Dear
brothers, I realize that what you did to Jesus was done in ignorance; and the
same can be said of your leaders. 18 But God was fulfilling the
prophecies that the Messiah must suffer all these things. 19 Now
change your mind and attitude to God and turn to him so he can cleanse away
your sins and send you wonderful times of refreshment from the presence of the
Lord 20 and send Jesus your Messiah back to you again. 21
For he must remain in heaven until the final recovery of all things from sin,
as prophesied from ancient times. Moses, for instance, said long ago, ‘The Lord
God will raise up a Prophet among you, who will resemble me! Listen carefully
to everything he tells you. 23 Anyone
who will not listen to him shall be utterly destroyed.’ 24 “Samuel
and every prophet since have all spoken about what is going on today. 25
You are the children of those prophets; and you are included in God’s promise
to your ancestors to bless the entire world through the Jewish race—that is the
promise God gave to Abraham. 26 And as soon as God had brought his
servant to life again, he sent him first of all to you men of Israel, to bless
you by turning you back from your sins.”
Acts 13:38–41 (The Living Bible) 38 “Brothers! Listen! In this man Jesus there
is forgiveness for your sins! 39 Everyone who trusts in him is freed
from all guilt and declared righteous—something the Jewish law could never
do. 40 Oh, be careful! Don’t let the prophets’ words apply to you.
For they said, 41 ‘Look and perish, you despisers of the truth, for
I am doing something in your day—something that you won’t believe when you hear
it announced.’ ”
Deuteronomy 18:18–19 (Tanakh) 18 I will raise up a prophet for them from among their own people,
like yourself: I will put My words in his mouth and he will speak to them all
that I command him; 19 and if
anybody fails to heed the words he speaks in My name, I myself will call him to
account.
Mark 16:16 (AMP) 16 He who believes
[who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets
forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not
adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will
be condemned.
John 3:14–20 (ESV) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the
Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have
eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order
that the world might be saved through him. 18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of
God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the
world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works
were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
John 12:46–50 (NASB95) 46 “I have come as Light
into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in
darkness. 47 “If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I
do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 “He who rejects Me and
does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what
will judge him at the last day. 49 “For I did not speak on My
own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as
to what to say and what to speak. 50 “I know that His
commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the
Father has told Me.”
2 Thessalonians 1:6–12 (CJB)
6 For it is justice for God to pay
back trouble to those who are troubling you, 7 and to give rest
along with us to you who are being troubled, when the Lord Yeshua is revealed
from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in a fiery flame. Then he
will punish those who don’t know God, that is, those who don’t listen to
the Good News of our Lord Yeshua and obey it. 9 They will suffer the
just penalty of eternal destruction, far away from the face of the Lord and
the glory of his might.10 On that Day, when he comes to be
glorified by his holy people and admired by all who have trusted, you will be
among them, because you trusted our witness to you. 11 With this in
view, we always pray for you that our God may make you worthy of his calling
and may fulfill by his power every good purpose of yours and every action
stemming from your trust. 12 In this way, the name of our Lord Yeshua
will be glorified in you, and you in him, in accordance with the grace of our
God and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit
spoke from God.]
