To: ALL WHO HAVE EARS TO HEAR
From: GOD THE FATHER, THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST HIS SON and Ministered through the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be
with you forever. [John 14:16] Subject: MY WORD; John 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 (NKJV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 Peter 1:12–2:5 (The Living Bible) 12
They were finally told that these things would not occur during their lifetime,
but long years later, during yours. And now at last this Good News has been
plainly announced to all of us. It was preached to us in the power of the same
heaven-sent Holy Spirit who spoke to them; and it is all so strange and
wonderful that even the angels in heaven would give a great deal to know more
about it. 13 So now you can look forward soberly and intelligently
to more of God’s kindness to you when Jesus Christ returns. 14 Obey
God because you are his children; don’t slip back into your old ways—doing evil
because you knew no better. 15 But
be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy, who invited you
to be his child. 16 He himself has said, “You must be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And remember that
your heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites when he judges. He will
judge you with perfect justice for everything you do; so act in reverent fear
of him from now on until you get to heaven. 18 God paid a ransom to
save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take,
and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver as you very well know. 19
But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless,
spotless Lamb of God. 20 God chose him for this purpose long before
the world began, but only recently was he brought into public view, in these
last days, as a blessing to you. 21 Because of this, your trust can
be in God who raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory. Now your
faith and hope can rest in him alone. 22 Now you can have real love
for everyone because your souls have been cleansed from selfishness and hatred
when you trusted Christ to save you; so see to it that you really do love each
other warmly, with all your hearts. 23 For you have a new life. It
was not passed on to you from your parents, for the life they gave you will
fade away. This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ, God’s
ever-living Message to men. 24 Yes, our natural lives will fade as
grass does when it becomes all brown and dry. All our greatness is like a
flower that droops and falls; 25 but the Word of the Lord will last
forever. And his message is the Good News that was preached to you. 21 So get rid of your
feelings of hatred. Don’t just pretend
to be good! Be done with dishonesty and jealousy and talking about others
behind their backs. 2 Now that you realize how kind the Lord has
been to you, put away all evil, deception, envy, and fraud. Long to grow up
into the fullness of your salvation; cry for this as a baby cries for his milk.
4 Come to Christ, who is the living Foundation of Rock upon which
God builds; though men have spurned him, he is very precious to God who has
chosen him above all others. 5 And now you have become living building-stones
for God’s use in building his house. What’s more, you are his holy priests; so
come to him—you who are acceptable to him because of Jesus Christ—and offer to
God those things that please him.
Leviticus 11:45 (ESV) 45 For I am the Lord who
brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
Ephesians 1:18–2:10 (The Living Bible) 18 I pray
that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of
the future he has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been
made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to him! 19 I pray that you will begin to
understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him.
It is that same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and
seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven, 21
far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is
far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world
to come. 22 And God has put all things under his feet and made him
the supreme Head of the Church—23 which is his body, filled with
himself, the Author and Giver of everything everywhere. 1 Once you
were under God’s curse, doomed forever for your sins. 2 You went
along with the crowd and were just like all the others, full of sin, obeying
Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air, who is at work right now in
the hearts of those who are against the Lord. 3 All of us used to be
just as they are, our lives expressing the evil within us, doing every wicked
thing that our passions or our evil thoughts might lead us into. We started out
bad, being born with evil natures, and were under God’s anger just like
everyone else. 4 But God is
so rich in mercy; he loved us so much 5 that even though we were
spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, he gave us back our lives again when
he raised Christ from the dead—only by his undeserved favor have we ever
been saved—6 and lifted us up from the grave into glory along with
Christ, where we sit with him in the heavenly realms—all because of what Christ
Jesus did. 7 And now God can always point to us as examples of how
very, very rich his kindness is, as shown in all he has done for us through
Jesus Christ. 8 Because of
his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is
not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not
a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it. 10
It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from
Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in
helping others.
[Please Note: Always Read the
Word of God in Context, reading the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy
Spirit of the Living God to give you the interpretation. 2 Peter 1:16–21 (Williams) 16 For it was not mere stories of fancy
that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He
received such honor and glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory
there was borne to Him a voice like this, “This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom
I take delight.” 18 we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven
while we were with Him on that sacred mountain. 19 So we have the
message of the prophets more certainly guaranteed. Please pay attention to this message as to a
lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning
star rises in your hearts; 20 because you recognize this truth above
all else, that no prophecy in Scripture
is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21 for no prophecy has
ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit
spoke from God.]
Philippians
2:9–11 (The Living Bible)9 Yet it was because of this that God raised him up to the heights
of heaven and gave him a name which is above every other name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee shall
bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue
shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
