“These are
the things we are talking about when we avoid the manner of speaking that human
wisdom would dictate and instead use a manner of speaking taught by the Spirit,
by which we explain things of the Spirit to people who have the Spirit. Now The
Natural Man Does Not Receive The Things From The Spirit Of God—To Him They Are
Nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated
through the Spirit.”
From: GOD THE FATHER, THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST HIS SON and Ministered through the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be
with you forever. [John 14:16]
Subject: MY WORD; John 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 (NKJV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full
of grace and truth.
1 Corinthians 2:1–9 (NASB95) 1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. 6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; 7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; 8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; 9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:10–3:9 (CJB) 10 It is to us, however, that God has revealed these things. How?
Through the Spirit. For the Spirit probes all things, even the profoundest
depths of God. 11 For who knows the inner workings of a person
except the person’s own spirit inside him? So too no one knows the inner
workings of God except God’s Spirit. 12 Now we have not received the
spirit of the world but the Spirit of God, so that we might understand the
things God has so freely given us. 13 These are the things we are talking about when we avoid the manner of
speaking that human wisdom would dictate and instead use a manner of speaking
taught by the Spirit, by which we explain things of the Spirit to people who
have the Spirit. 14 Now the natural man does not receive the things
from the Spirit of God—to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to
grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit. 15 But
the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a
position to evaluate him. 16 For who has known the mind of Adonai? Who will counsel him?
But we have the mind of the Messiah! 1 As for me, brothers, I
couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as babies, so
far as experience with the Messiah is concerned. 2 I gave you milk,
not solid food, because you were not yet ready for it. But you aren’t ready for
it now either! 3 For you are still worldly! Isn’t it obvious from
all the jealousy and quarrelling among you that you are worldly and living by
merely human standards? 4 For when one says, “I follow Sha’ul” and
another, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you being merely human? 5 After
all, what is Apollos? What is Sha’ul? Only servants through whom you came to
trust. Indeed, it was the Lord who brought you to trust through one of us or
through another. 6 I planted
the seed, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. 7
So neither the planter nor the waterer is anything, only God who makes things
grow—8 planter and waterer are the same. However, each will be
rewarded according to his work. 9 For we are God’s co-workers; you
are God’s field, God’s building.
1 Corinthians 3:10–4:2 (The Living Bible) 10
God, in his kindness, has taught me how to be an expert builder. I have laid
the foundation and Apollos has built on it. But he who builds on the foundation
must be very careful. 11 And
no one can ever lay any other real foundation than that one we already
have—Jesus Christ. 12 But there are various kinds of materials
that can be used to build on that foundation. Some use gold and silver and
jewels; and some build with sticks and hay or even straw! 13 There
is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s Judgment Day to see what kind of
material each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so
that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really
accomplished. 14 Then every workman who has built on the foundation
with the right materials, and whose work still stands, will get his pay. 15
But if the house he has built burns up, he will have a great loss. He himself
will be saved, but like a man escaping through a wall of flames. 16 Don’t you realize that all of you together
are the house of God, and that the Spirit of God lives among you in his house? 17
If anyone defiles and spoils God’s home, God will destroy him. For God’s home
is holy and clean, and you are that home. 18 Stop fooling
yourselves. If you count yourself above average in intelligence, as judged by
this world’s standards, you had better put this all aside and be a fool rather
than let it hold you back from the true wisdom from above. 19 For
the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As it says in the book of Job,
God uses man’s own brilliance to trap him; he stumbles over his own “wisdom”
and falls. 20 And again, in
the book of Psalms, we are told that the Lord knows full well how the human
mind reasons and how foolish and futile it is. 21 So don’t be proud
of following the wise men of this world. For God has already given you
everything you need. 22 He has given you Paul and Apollos and
Peter as your helpers. He has given you the whole world to use, and life and
even death are your servants. He has given you all of the present and all of
the future. All are yours, 23 and you belong to Christ, and Christ
is God’s. 1 So Apollos and I should be looked upon as Christ’s
servants who distribute God’s blessings by explaining God’s secrets. 2 Now the most important thing
about a servant is that he does just what his master tells him to.
[Please Note: Always Read the Word of God in Context,
reading the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy Spirit of the Living God to
give you the interpretation. 2
Peter 1:16–21 (Williams) 16
For it was not mere stories of fancy that we followed when we told
you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been
eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received such honor and
glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory there was borne to Him
a voice like this, “This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom I take delight.” 18
we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven while we were with Him on that
sacred mountain. 19 So we have the message of the prophets more
certainly guaranteed. Please pay
attention to this message as to a lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until
the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 because
you recognize this truth above all else, that
no prophecy in Scripture is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21
for no prophecy has ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by
the Holy Spirit spoke from God.]
Philippians 2:9–11 (The Living
Bible)9 Yet it was because of this that God raised
him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name which is above every other
name, 10 that at the name of
Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God
the Father.
