MY WORD
John 4:21–24 (NIV) 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe
me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain
nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we
worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true
worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his
worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23 (ESV) 23 But the hour is coming, and is
now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth,
for the Father is seeking such people to
worship him.
John 4:22–24 (The Living Bible) For it’s not where we worship that
counts, but how we worship—is our worship spiritual and real? Do we have
the Holy Spirit’s help? For God is Spirit, and we must have his help to worship
as we should. The Father wants this kind
of worship from us. But you Samaritans know so little about him, worshiping
blindly, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes to the world
through the Jews.”
John 4:23 (NASB95) 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman,
believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem
will you worship the Father. 22 “You worship what you do not know;
we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 “But an
hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people
the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 “God is spirit, and
those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Psalm 29:1–2 (Tanakh) 1 A psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord,
O divine beings, ascribe to the Lord
glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord
the glory of His name; bow down to the Lord, majestic in holiness.
Revelation 4:8–10 (NIV)
8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was
covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never
stop saying: “ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and
is, and is to come.” 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory,
honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever,
10 the twenty-four elders
fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever
and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
Revelation 5:8–9 (NASB95)
8 When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before
the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which
are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain,
and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue
and people and nation.
Revelation 5:13–14 (AMP) 13 And I heard every
created thing in heaven and on earth and under the earth [in Hades, the place
of departed spirits] and on the sea and all that is in it, crying out together,
To Him Who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be ascribed the blessing and
the honor and the majesty (glory, splendor) and the power (might and dominion)
forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities)! 14 Then
the four living creatures (beings) said, Amen (so be it)! And the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves and
worshiped Him Who lives forever and ever.
