Deaf and Blind

To: ALL WHO HAVE EARS TO HEAR

From; GOD THE FATHER, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST HIS SON and Ministered through the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be with you forever. [John 14:16]

Subject: MY WORD

Isaiah 6:8–10 (NASB95)

8   Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

9   He said, “Go, and tell this people:

‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive;

Keep on looking, but do not understand.’

10         “Render the hearts of this people insensitive,

Their ears dull,

And their eyes dim,

Otherwise they might see with their eyes,

Hear with their ears,

Understand with their hearts,

And return and be healed.”

Matthew 13:14–16 (The Living Bible)

14“This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah:

‘They hear, but don’t understand; they look, but don’t see! 15For their hearts are fat and heavy, and their ears are dull, and they have closed their eyes in sleep, 16so they won’t see and hear and understand and turn to God again, and let me heal them.’

But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.

Mark 4:11–12 (The Living Bible)

11-12He replied, “You are permitted to know some truths about the Kingdom of God that are hidden to those outside the Kingdom:

‘Though they see and hear, they will not understand or turn to God, or be forgiven for their sins.’

Luke 8:10 (The Living Bible)

10He replied, “God has granted you to know the meaning of these parables, for they tell a great deal about the Kingdom of God. But these crowds hear the words and do not understand, just as the ancient prophets predicted.

John 12:38–41 (The Living Bible)

38This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: “Lord, who will believe us? Who will accept God’s mighty miracles as proof?” 39But they couldn’t believe, for as Isaiah also said: 40“God has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts so that they can neither see nor understand nor turn to me to heal them.” 41Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he made this prediction, for he had seen a vision of the Messiah’s glory.
