“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe
yourselves with feelings of compassion and with kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience. Bear with one another; If Anyone Has A Complaint Against Someone
Else, Forgive Him. Indeed, Just As The Lord Has Forgiven You, So You Must
Forgive. Above all these, clothe
yourselves with love, which binds everything together perfectly; and let the shalom
which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s decision-maker, for this is why
you were called to be part of a single Body. And be thankful—”
From: GOD THE FATHER, THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST HIS SON and Ministered through the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be
with you forever. [John 14:16]
Subject: MY WORD; John 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 (NKJV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full
of grace and truth.
Matthew 6:12 (The Living Bible) 12 and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
Matthew 6:12 (YLT) 12 ‘And forgive us our
debts, as also we forgive our debtors.
Genesis 50:14–21 (NKJV) 14 And after he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, he
and his brothers and all who went up with him to bury his father. 15
When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps
Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to
him.” 16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before
your father died he commanded, saying, 17 ‘Thus you shall say to
Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the
trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.” ’ Now,
please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.”
And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also
went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your
servants.” 19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am
I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me;
but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is
this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little
ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
Matthew 6:14–15 (AMP) 14 For if you forgive people
their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them
go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15
But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful
sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will
your Father forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 18:21–35 (The Living Bible) 21
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Sir,
how often should I forgive a brother who sins against me? Seven times?” 22
“No!” Jesus replied, “seventy times seven! 23 “The Kingdom of
Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date. 24
In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him $10 million! 25
He couldn’t pay, so the king ordered him sold for the debt, also his wife and
children and everything he had. 26 “But the man fell down before the
king, his face in the dust, and said, ‘Oh, sir, be patient with me and I will
pay it all.’ 27 “Then the king was filled with pity for him and
released him and forgave his debt. 28 “But when the man left the
king, he went to a man who owed him $2,000 and grabbed him by the throat and
demanded instant payment. 29 “The man fell down before him and
begged him to give him a little time. ‘Be patient and I will pay it,’ he pled. 30
“But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and jailed until the
debt would be paid in full. 31 “Then the man’s friends went to the
king and told him what had happened. 32 And the king called before
him the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You
evil-hearted wretch! Here I forgave you all that tremendous debt, just because
you asked me to—33 shouldn’t you have mercy on others, just as I had
mercy on you?’ 34 “Then the angry king sent the man to the torture
chamber until he had paid every last penny due. 35 So shall my
heavenly Father do to you if you refuse to truly forgive your brothers.”
Mark 11:24–26 (CJB) 24 Therefore, I tell
you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it
will be yours. 25 And when
you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that
your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.”
Luke 17:1–5 (The Living Bible) 1 “There will always be temptations to sin,” Jesus said one day to
his disciples, “but woe to the man who does the tempting. 2 If he
were thrown into the sea with a huge rock tied to his neck, he would be far
better off than facing the punishment in store for those who harm these little
children’s souls. I am warning you! “Rebuke your brother if he sins, and
forgive him if he is sorry. 4
Even if he wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks
forgiveness, forgive him.” 5 One day the apostles said to the Lord,
“We need more faith; tell us how to get it.”
Ephesians 4:30–5:4 (The Living Bible) 30 Don’t cause the Holy Spirit sorrow by the way you live. Remember,
he is the one who marks you to be present on that day when salvation from sin
will be complete. 31 Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry.
Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your
lives. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has
forgiven you because you belong to Christ. 1 Follow God’s example in
everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father. 2
Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and
gave himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased,
for Christ’s love for you was like sweet perfume to him. 3 Let there
be no sex sin, impurity or greed among you. Let no one be able to accuse you of
any such things. 4 Dirty stories, foul talk, and coarse jokes—these
are not for you. Instead, remind each other of God’s goodness, and be thankful.
Colossians 3:12–17 (CJB) 12 Therefore, as God’s
chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with feelings of compassion
and with kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with one another; if anyone has a
complaint against someone else, forgive him. Indeed, just as the Lord has
forgiven you, so you must forgive. 14 Above all these, clothe
yourselves with love, which binds everything together perfectly; 15
and let the shalom which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s
decision-maker, for this is why you were called to be part of a single Body.
And be thankful—16 let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness,
live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing
psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts. 17
That is, everything you do or say, do in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving
thanks through him to God the Father.
[Please Note: Always Read the
Word of God in Context, reading the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy
Spirit of the Living God to give you the interpretation. 2 Peter 1:16–21 (Williams) 16 For it was not mere stories of fancy
that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He
received such honor and glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory
there was borne to Him a voice like this, “This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom
I take delight.” 18 we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven
while we were with Him on that sacred mountain. 19 So we have the
message of the prophets more certainly guaranteed. Please pay attention to this message as to a
lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning
star rises in your hearts; 20 because you recognize this truth above
all else, that no prophecy in Scripture
is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21 for no prophecy has
ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit
spoke from God.]
Philippians 2:9–11 (The Living
Bible)9 Yet it was because of this that God raised
him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name which is above every other
name, 10 that at the name of
Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God
the Father.
