HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, The Helper, that He may be with you forever. [John

MY WORD
James 4:5–10 (The Living Bible) 5 Or
what do you think the Scripture means when it says that the Holy Spirit, whom
God has placed within us, watches over us with tender jealousy? 6 But
he gives us more and more strength to stand against all such evil longings. As
the Scripture says, God gives strength
to the humble but sets himself against the proud and haughty. 7 So
give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8
And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. Wash your hands,
you sinners, and let your hearts be filled with God alone to make them pure and
true to him. 9 Let there be tears for the wrong things you have
done. Let there be sorrow and sincere grief. Let there be sadness instead of
laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 Then when you realize your
worthlessness before the Lord, he will lift you up, encourage and help you.
1 Peter 5:5–7 (ESV) 5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe
yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the
proud but gives grace to the humble.” 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that
at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on
him, because he cares for you.
1 Samuel 2:2–3 (NASB95) 2 “There is no one
holy like the Lord, Indeed, there
is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. 3 “Boast no more so very proudly, Do not
let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the Lord
is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed.
Luke 14:11 (AMP) 11 For everyone who
exalts himself will be humbled (ranked below others who are honored or
rewarded), and he who humbles himself (keeps a modest opinion of himself and
behaves accordingly) will be exalted (elevated in rank).
Luke 1:51–53 (CJB) 51 “He has performed mighty deeds with his
arm, routed the secretly proud, 52 brought down rulers from their
thrones, raised up the humble, 53
filled the hungry with good things, but sent the rich away empty.
Proverbs 29:23 (CJB) 23 The proud will be
humbled, but the humble will be honored.
Isaiah 2:17 (The Living Bible) 17 All the glory of mankind will bow low; the pride of
men will lie in the dust, and the Lord
alone will be exalted.
Matthew 23:11–12 (NIV) 11 The greatest among
you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be
humbled, and those who humble themselves
will be exalted.
Psalm 138:6–8 (The Living Bible) 6 Yet though he is so great, he
respects the humble, but proud men must keep their distance. 7 Though
I am surrounded by troubles, you will bring me safely through them. You will
clench your fist against my angry enemies! Your power will save me. 8
The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your loving-kindness, Lord,
continues forever. Don’t abandon me—for you made me.
[Please Note: Always Read the Word of God in Context asking
the Holy Spirit of the Living God to give you the interpretation. 2 Peter 1:16–21 (Williams) 16 For it was not mere stories of fancy
that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He
received such honor and glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory
there was borne to Him a voice like this, “This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom
I take delight.” 18 we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven
while we were with Him on that sacred mountain. 19 So we have the
message of the prophets more certainly guaranteed. Please pay attention to this message as to a
lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning
star rises in your hearts; 20 because you recognize this truth above
all else, that no prophecy in Scripture
is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21 for no prophecy has
ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit
spoke from God.]
